IPL 2025: KKR vs RCB to Start Season at Eden Gardens; CSK vs MI at Chepauk
The most anticipated Indian Premier League 2025 is set to kick off on March 22. The season opener match is between the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Eden Gardens.
According to the sources from the ESPNCricinfo, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to release the IPL 2025 schedule early next week. The reports also mentioned that Dharamsala will be a secondary home ground for the Punjab Kings and Guwahati will be the secondary venue for the Rajasthan Royals.
The Sunrises Hyderabad will play the second match of the season at their home venue against the Rajasthan Royals on March 23. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK), led by Ruturaj Gaikwad will start their season at home at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. They will play their first match against Mumbai Indians, led by Hardik Pandya. This match will be an exciting battle between the two most successful IPL franchises.

The defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders will also have a new captain this season, as their former skipper Shreyas Iyer has moved to Punjab Kings for Rs 26.75 crore in the mega auction. The Punjab Kings have officially named Shreyas Iyer as their captain.
Recently, Royal Challengers Bengaluru also named Rajat Patidar as their captain. RCB fans are hopeful that Patidar can finally lead the team to their first-ever title.
