IPL 2025: Emerging Player Award, Winners List, Criteria, and Rising Stars

IPL 2025 is just around the corner. In the last few seasons, we have seen that the Indian Premier League is an excellent platform for youngsters to showcase their skills and talent. To recognise this talent, the IPL body gives an emerging player award yearly, and one player has been the most impressive.

 

Criteria for the IPL Emerging Player Award 

-Not more than 26 years of age. The exact date of birth varies for each IPL season

-Played five or fever test matches and 20 or fewer one-day internationals 

-The player must have played 25 or a few of your IPL matches at the start of the season

-The player must not be a previous winner of the Emerging Player award.

IPL 2023: Yashasvi Jaiswal (Rajasthan Royals)

IPL 2022: Umran Malik (Sunrisers Hyderabad)

IPL 2020: Devdutt Padikkal (Royal Challengers Bangalore)

 

IPL 2024:  Nitish Kumar Reddy (Sunrisers Hyderabad)

SRH All-rounder Nitish Reddy had 303 runs in 15 matches with a strike rate of 142.92 and an impressive average of 33.67.

Nitish Reddy was the talk of the town just two weeks ago when he fought century in Brisbane in the very tough conditions.

IPL 2023: Yashasvi Jaiswal (Rajasthan Royals)

Rajasthan Jaiswal became the IPL's emerging player for the 2023 season, scoring 625 runs in just 14 matches, which was pivotal in the team's success.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has now become an integral part of the Indian test cricket team, consistently scoring runs in the game's most extended format.

IPL 2022: Umran Malik (Sunrisers Hyderabad)

SRH's young pacer from Jammu and Kashmir bowled legally in the season, doing fast-paced bowling and clocking over 150 kmph regularly. Imran Malik 2 22 wickets in 14 matches. 

Umran Malik's IPL career started like a fly, with his impressive fast bowling catching everyone's attention as he consistently bowled 145-150 kmph.

IPL 2021: Ruturaj Gaikwad (Chennai Super Kings)

CSK is Rituraj Gaikwad, who became an emerging player for the season IPL 2021 after scoring 635 runs in 16 matches, playing a crucial role in the team's victory in the IPL 2021.

Gaikwad, who debuted in the IPL just years ago, succeeded MS Dhoni as the captain of the most successful team in IPL history, the Chennai Super Kings.

IPL 2020: Devdutt Padikkal (Royal Challengers Bangalore)

 

Devdutt Padikall became the emerging player in the IPL 2020 after scoring 473 runs and 15 matches, giving a fabulous start to the RCB alongside Virat Kohli. 

Padikall, after proving himself in the IPL note, travels consistently with the Indian team as the backup for the top order. However, he did not get enough chances to prove his talent in the international games.
