IPL 2025 Closing Ceremony to Honor Armed Forces and Operation Sindoor Heroes

The BCCI will pay a special tribute to the Indian armed forces during the closing ceremony of IPL 2025. Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed this to India Today. The tribute is a way to honour the bravery and efforts of the armed forces for successfully carrying out Operation Sindoor.
Closing Ceremony Dedicated to Armed Forces in Tribute to Operation Sindoor
On May 7, India carried out Operation Sindoor, a carefully planned strike on terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, following the tragic Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 innocent civilians.
To pay tribute to the bravery, sacrifice, and courage of our armed forces, BCCI has decided to dedicate the closing ceremony of the tournament to our nation’s heroes, as shared by Devajit Saikia.
The Board salutes the bravery, courage, and selfless service of our armed forces, whose heroic efforts under Operation Sindoor continue to protect and inspire the nation. As a tribute, we have decided to dedicate the closing ceremony to the armed forces,” the BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia told Sportstar.
Honoring the Heroes: IPL 2025 Pays Tribute to Armed Forces Amid Border Tensions
The closing ceremony of IPL 2025 will take place just before the final match, which is set for June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Throughout this season, the BCCI has been honoring the Indian armed forces, especially in light of Operation Sindoor. The IPL had to be paused for a week because of growing tensions at the India-Pakistan border. Thankfully, the tournament started again on May 17 after both countries agreed to a ceasefire.
Since the tournament started again, the BCCI has been paying tribute to the armed forces by putting up big banners at every match. The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) also showed their respect by placing a large tribute banner on the Eden Gardens clubhouse to honour the brave men and women who serve the nation.
