India Withdraws from WCL 2025 Semifinal Against Pakistan in Shocking Move
The India Champions have made a historic decision to withdraw from their semifinal match against the Pakistan Champions in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025.
The Indian team has cited political and national conflicts as well as concerns over terrorism as reasons for their refusal to play. This marks the second time India has forfeited a match against Pakistan in this tournament, following their earlier group-stage withdrawal. If India does not participate in the semifinal, Pakistan will automatically advance to the finals, having topped the group stage.

EaseMyTrip, the main sponsor of the WCL 2025, has also withdrawn its support for the India-Pakistan semifinal. The company has emphasized its stance against normalizing relations with Pakistan due to terrorism issues. In a statement, EaseMyTrip praised the India Champions for their outstanding performance in the tournament, but emphasized that terror and cricket cannot coexist. Nishant Pitti, co-founder of EaseMyTrip, said, “The people of India have spoken, and we hear them. EaseMyTrip will not be associated with the India vs Pakistan match in WCL. Some things are bigger than sport. Nation first, business later, always.”
This decision has sparked a debate about India’s participation in their upcoming Asia Cup 2025 match against Pakistan on September 14. Given the ongoing political tensions, it remains uncertain whether the match will proceed as scheduled. Pakistan currently leads the points table, while India occupies the 4th position. If India does not play the semifinal, Pakistan will advance to the final without facing any opposition.
