IND vs PAK T20 World Cup Clash Under Weather Threat as Colombo Gets Rain Warning
After the Pakistan team has received confirmation from their government of participation in the IND vs PAK T20 World Cup match on February 15th, there is still likely to be one other major issue. The Sri Lankan Government issued a Weather Advisory on February 15th & 16th, which puts in the long-awaited match-up between the two countries.
Things may actually worsen based on a notice from the Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre, which recommends that the public continue monitoring forecasts and updates. A substantial amount of work will now be placed on the organizers of this match, and it will be a huge headache for the fans who have managed to get to Sri Lanka for the highly anticipated match.
Accuweather reported that there is a possibility of rain for 4 hours, and 26% chance of thunderstorms on the day of the game, which is not good for anyone, especially after ICC and PCB held a meeting regarding Pakistan’s reluctance to play in this match.

PCB had pulled out of playing IND vs PAK on February 1st, showing solidarity with Bangladesh, requesting not to play in India. They were finally told on February 10th that the match would be played.
If the IND vs PAK match gets washed out, both teams will each receive 1 point, then India just has to win 1 other game to advance to the Super 8, while Pakistan will have to win at least two more games before they’re eligible to advance. However, let’s hope there will not be an upset between either team, and both teams will advance without difficulty from this group stage.
