ECB urges PCB to rethink boycott as Pakistan places three demands for IND vs PAK T20 World Cup 2026 clash

According to reports, it is claimed that the PCB reached this conclusion following talks with the Pakistan government, most importantly when Bangladesh refused to tour India and Scotland was included.

According to RevSportz, the UAE reminded Pakistan that it has “at all times supported you like a member of the family” by offering them locations and assistance in arranging fixtures for them in the past. The letter further reminded them that if they fail to play the match on February 15, it could not only be detrimental to cricket but also cause losses to the associate nations.

As per the report,.ECB’s letter to PCB stated that.

The Emirates Cricket Board has long-term rapport with Pakistan and in the past we have accommodated Pakistan by giving them our venues and organised their cricket. Pakistan’s latest decision of not playing the WCT20 match against India will hurt the game and most member countries, especially the Associates will suffer financially. As a family member we request the PCB to reconsider their decision and find an acceptable solution,

Earlier today, reports said that Pakistan placed three demands before the ICC in order to play the India vs Pakistan match in the T20 World Cup 2026. This happened after a virtual meeting on Sunday between the ICC, the PCB, and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chairman.

First, the Pakistan Cricket Board has asked the ICC for extra financial support. Second, Pakistan wants cricket ties with India to restart in the future. Third, the Pakistan team has requested that the Indian players shake hands with them after the T20 World Cup match as a gesture of sportsmanship.
