IND vs AFG ODI Series 2026: Full Schedule, Squads & Live Streaming Details

The BCCI has officially announced Afghanistan’s tour of India for June 2026. The bilateral series will include one Test match and three ODIs as part of India’s home season. The Test match will be played in New Chandigarh from June 6 to 10, while the ODI series will take place in Dharamshala (June 14), Lucknow (June 17), and Chennai (June 20). As of now, no T20I matches have been scheduled for the tour.

The series comes during a busy international calendar and after the T20 World Cup 2026 period. While there were discussions about a possible T20I leg, neither the BCCI nor the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has officially confirmed any additional fixtures. The current schedule only includes the Test and ODI matches announced by the board.

India’s squad selections for the tour reflect a mix of youth and experience. Young players like Prince Yadav, Gurnoor Brar, Harsh Dubey, and Manav Suthar have received maiden call-ups, showing the selectors’ focus on testing bench strength. At the same time, experienced stars such as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Shreyas Iyer remain part of the setup.

There have also been several notable leadership and workload-management decisions. Shubman Gill has been appointed Test captain, with KL Rahul serving as vice-captain. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have returned to the ODI squad, although Rohit’s participation depends on his fitness. Meanwhile, senior players Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja have been rested from both squads to manage workload ahead of a packed season.

The selectors have also made some surprising calls in the white-ball setup. Rishabh Pant has been removed as ODI vice-captain, while Ishan Kishan has been selected as the wicketkeeper-batter. All-rounder Axar Patel has also been left out of the limited-overs squads. Overall, the Indian squads balance experienced names with young talent as the team prepares for future ICC events.

Afghanistan’s squad for the tour has not been announced yet. However, the team is expected to feature core players like Rashid Khan, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Fazalhaq Farooqi.
