Pakistan almost achieved second position in the Super Eight Group 2 of the T20 World Cup 2026. They beat Sri Lanka by five runs in the match played in Pallekele, but they could not achieve the first position. Even after getting two points, they could not overcome the net run rate of New Zealand. So, New Zealand has qualified for the semifinal along with England from Group 2.

In Group 1, South Africa has already qualified for the semifinal as they have won their first two matches. Now, West Indies and India will face each other in an important match to be played on Sunday. The winner of this match will qualify for the semifinal from Group 1.
