ICC Player of the Month (September 2025): India Duo and Zimbabwe Star Feature in Nominee List
The ICC has named the Player of the Month nominees for September 2025. India’s Abhishek Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav made the list for their great performances in the Asia Cup along with Zimbabwe’s Brian Bennett. Abhishek was outstanding for India, scoring 314 runs at a very fast rate of 200, making him one of only two players in the tournament to score over 100 runs with a strike rate above 150.
Kuldeep Yadav was easily the best bowler in the Asia Cup. India’s next best bowler, Varun Chakaravarthy, took only 7 wickets. Besides Kuldeep, only Shaheen Shah Afridi managed to take 10 wickets in the tournament, showing how much better Kuldeep was than the rest. Among spinners, Saim Ayub was next with 8 wickets after Kuldeep.
Bennett is one of the most promising young players in world cricket. At just 21 years old, he has already played 66 matches for Zimbabwe. In September, he scored half-centuries against Sri Lanka, Uganda, Namibia, and Botswana, and also hit a century against Tanzania in the 2026 T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier.
