ICC Announces Men's T20I Team of 2024: Four Indian Players Included

The International Cricket Council announces the men's T20I team of 2024. Rohit Sharma led his team, India, to win the T20 World Cup for the second time, he was elected as the captain of the ICC T20I Team of the Year. Even though Rohit had a tough year in test cricket.

Sharma also scored a lot of runs in the World Cup, second-highest runscorer. And three other people from India got picked too because they played well. There's Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh, who are unfathomably proficient at bowling. And then there's Hardik Pandya great all-rounder. Jasprit Bumrah did so well that he was named the best player of the entire World Cup.

Travis Head opened the batting alongside Rohit Sharma at the start of the game. Travis Head is proficient at batting because, in the T20 World Cup, he scored 255 of them in just seven games. That made him one of the best, the third-highest runscorer. Travis Head played well in 2024 in the Indian Premier League, which is a cricket league in India.

Phil Salt hit three T20I centuries in 2024 and found a spot in the ICC XI.

In 2024, Nicholas Pooran who is proficient at batting. He scored 2,000 runs in T20 cricket games. Pooran was so good that they chose him as the wicketkeeper for the ICC T20I Team of the Year. Babar Azam, a very good batter from Pakistan, was also picked for the team. Babar Azam scored 738 runs from playing 23 innings, even though he didn't do his best in the T20 World Cup.

There are three top all-rounders on the team from different teams. There's Rashid Khan from Afghanistan. Rashid Khan was great because he helped his team, Afghanistan, get to the semi-final of the World Cup for the first time. There's also Sikandar Raza, and he's from Zimbabwe. And then there's Hardik Pandya from India. Pandya played very well in the T20 World Cup.

Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh are great at fast bowling. In the T20 World Cup, they were amazing. Bumrah took 15 wickets and Arshdeep took 17 wickets. About a year has been going by, and Arshdeep has played 18 games. Singh was utterly excellent in them and took 36 wickets.

Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga was another bowler to join the team. Hasaranga was very good at spinning the ball, just like Rashid Khan. Wanindu helped his team win important games, so it made sense for him to be selected.
