How Much Will Pakistan Earn After Champions Trophy Group-Stage Exit?Pakistan’s attempt at hosting the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy ended without a win. Their match against Bangladesh on Thursday, February 27 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium was ruined by heavy rain and ended with no result. After big losses to New Zealand in Karachi and India in Dubai, this meant Pakistan finished last in Group A, earning only one point from three games with a very poor net run rate of -1.087.

Even though Pakistan hosted the event, they ended up as the worst team in the tournament. In this article, we'll look at how much money the Pakistan cricket team is expected to earn from the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) worked for nearly two years to secure the rights to host the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. However, the home campaign ended in less than five days after heavy losses to New Zealand and India, followed by a rain-affected match against Bangladesh. According to the prize money announced by the ICC, the Pakistan team will get $140,000 (Rs. 1.21 crore) for finishing seventh/eighth.

They will also earn an extra $125,000 (Rs. 1.08 crore) as a participation fee. In total, led by Mohammad Rizwan, the team will make Rs. 2.30 crore from the tournament.

For the first time in almost 29 years, Pakistan hosted an ICC event. The Pakistan Cricket Board spent a lot of money to upgrade the stadiums and improve the country's cricket facilities. In August 2024, the ICC approved a budget of $70 million for the event in Pakistan, plus an extra $4.5 million for any unexpected costs. Several news sources reported that the PCB spent around 1.8 billion rupees on the stadium upgrades.
