Hardik Pandya Injury Update: Mumbai Indians Captain Set to Return for RCB Clash in Raipur

by K D Mishra

The captain of the Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya, will reportedly be back into the team soon after he was ruled out from the recent clash against the Lucknow Super Giants due to a back spasm. It appears that Hardik will rejoin the Mumbai Indians team for the upcoming encounter against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Raipur.

Hardik Pandya Set for MI Return Ahead of RCB Clash After Back Injury Recovery

Hardik Pandya's absence from the side has certainly made fans anxious about his fitness, and they have been discussing his condition actively. However, the Mumbai Indians management has been keeping themselves calm over the situation. Sources state that the injury isn't too severe and requires just a bit of rest for recovery.

The Mumbai Indians aren't in a hurry to get Hardik back into the playing eleven for fear of aggravating his condition. The franchise has already been cautious of their senior players in this season. For instance, Rohit Sharma returned slowly after his injury. They might adopt the same approach with Hardik Pandya based on his fitness at practice sessions.

For Mumbai Indians, this has been a very difficult season. The team has managed to win only three games out of ten, with the playoffs out of question. Hardik has also had a very poor season with 146 runs and four wickets in eight matches. It is better for MI to be careful now than take any unnecessary risk.

Along with Hardik Pandya, other players such as Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Tilak Varma were also traveling alone as per the schedule. There might be a possibility that Suryakumar will miss the match against RCB for personal reasons. On the other hand, Rohit has already joined the camp and will continue training ahead of the crucial game against RCB.
