England’s Nat Sciver-Brunt Overtakes Smriti Mandhana to Become No.1 in ICC ODI Batting Rankings

by Staff Writer

the International Cricket Council (ICC) released its latest weekly rankings for women's cricket. England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt has reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the One-Day International (ODI) batting rankings, ousting India's Smriti Mandhana from the top position.

Nat Sciver-Brunt

England's captain secured the top spot for the first time in 2025, thanks to her outstanding performance in the recently concluded ODI series against India. Despite England's 1-2 series defeat at home, Sciver-Brunt had an exceptional individual run, scoring 160 runs across three matches with an average of 53.33. Her 98-run knock in the third ODI propelled her to the No. 1 spot with 731 rating points.

On the other hand, Mandhana had a good series but could not match Sciver-Brunt's performance. The Indian opener scored 115 runs in three innings without registering a single fifty. Consequently, Mandhana dropped to second place in the ICC rankings with 728 rating points.

India's captain Harmanpreet Kaur also saw a significant rise in the rankings. Her record-breaking century in the third and series-deciding match in Durham earned her a jump of 10 spots, placing her 11th on the list with 732 rating points. Jemimah Rodrigues, another Indian batter, also improved her position, moving up two spots to 13th place.

In the bowling rankings, there were no major changes. Deepti Sharma remains India's highest-ranked bowler, holding the fourth position. No other Indian bowler made it to the top 10, with Sneh Rana being the next best-ranked Indian bowler at 21st place. Deepti Sharma, despite taking only one wicket in the recent series, continues to hold her spot.
