The Delhi Premier League is all set to get bigger this year, with two new teams being added for Season 2, as confirmed by the DDCA. The tournament is expected to begin in the last week of July, and the player auction will take place on July 5. What’s creating a lot of buzz is the next generation of cricketing families stepping, Virat Kohli’s 15-year-old nephew Aaryaveer Kohli has made it to the auction list, along with Virender Sehwag’s sons, Aaryavir and Vedant. All eyes will be on these young talents as they go under the hammer.
Virat Kohli’s nephew Aaryaveer Kohli, son of his elder brother Vikas, is just 15 but already making a name for himself in Delhi’s Under-16 circuit. He’s being trained by Raj Kumar Sharma, the same coach who guided Virat early in his career. Aaryaveer has been placed in Category C for the upcoming Delhi Premier League auction.
Virender Sehwag’s 17-year-old son Aryavir has been turning heads too. Playing for Delhi Under-19, he smashed a brilliant 297 against Meghalaya in the Cooch Behar Trophy. The knock got a lot of attention, and even Sehwag joked that his son missed a Ferrari by just 23 runs, showing the mix of pride and humour fans love about him.

One such name is Priyansh Arya, who made headlines by smashing six sixes in an over during a stunning 50-ball 120. That knock helped him land a ₹3.80 crore deal with Punjab Kings. He backed it up with 475 runs in 17 innings, striking at nearly 180. Then there’s Digvesh Rathi was signed by Lucknow Super Giants for ₹30 lakh. He ended up as their top wicket-taker with 14 wickets. Although he was briefly suspended for an on-field celebration his performances proved he belongs on the big stage.
