India beat New Zealand by 44 runs on Sunday to top Group A in the Champions Trophy.

India struggled at the start, losing three wickets for 30 runs in seven overs. Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel control the innings with an important 98-run partnership.

Shreyas Iyer was India's highest scorer, hitting 79 runs off 98 balls, with four fours and two sixes. Hardik Pandya's strong finish helped India reach a competitive total of 249. For New Zealand, Matt Henry was the top bowler, with five wickets his third five-wicket haul in ODIs.

New Zealand struggled against India's spinners and kept losing wickets, making it hard to score runs. After 36 overs, they were at 151 for 5. Kane Williamson scored 81 off 120 balls.

Varun Chakravarty was the star for India, taking 5 wickets for 42 runs to help restrict New Zealand to just 205. His brilliant performance played a big role in India's 44-run victory. India has made it to the semi-finals and will now face Australia on March 4 in Dubai. In the other semi-final, New Zealand will go up against South Africa on March 5.

With this win, India topped Group A with six points. New Zealand took second place with four points, while Bangladesh and Pakistan ended up in third and fourth with just one point each.
