Cricket Australia Reveals Women’s Central Contracts List for 2026/27
The Cricket Australia board has revealed the list of the women’s central contracts for the season 2026/27. Ainsworth and Hamilton are two new players who have been signed to their first contract. Eighteen players are contracted this time. The men’s contract list was revealed earlier this month.
Carey is one of the newly contracted players after her impressive performance in the series against the West Indies women’s cricket team. Players not in the list can secure themselves a contract based on their performance.
Cricket Australia’s Head of Performance and National Selector, Shawn Flegler said that,
“It’s exciting to see Lucy Hamilton and Chloe Ainsworth earn their first national contracts, which is a testament to the impact and talent they’ve showed at domestic level, while Nicola Carey retains her recent upgrade after some strong performances over the last two series,”
“While Tayla and Tess aren’t on the list this year, we’ll continue to support their development and they are both very much still in contention for selection.”
Players not contracted include Tayla Vlaeminck and Tess Flintoff. The women’s first major tournament will be the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England. This will be followed by the match against Bangladesh women’s cricket team in October and New Zealand women’s cricket team in February 2027.
