Chinnaswamy Stampede: RCB Announces Rs 10 Lakh to Families Who Lost Lives During CelebrationThings have taken a tragic turn for RCB, just days after they celebrated their first-ever IPL title win in Ahmedabad. A stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium during the victory event has left 11 people dead. The incident has raised serious questions about the planning and timing of the celebration putting the spotlight on the team's management and how the event was handled so soon after the final.

The news of the celebration spread everywhere, and hundreds of thousands of people came from across the country just to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars until things got out of hand. Even though there were plans to hold an open bus parade for the victory, the team was told not to go ahead with it. The police even posted on social media asking people not to organize the parade.

Meanwhile, RCB was asked to hold the parade on Sunday, but the team said they wouldn’t have their foreign players then. “We tried to discourage both the government and the RCB team from Tuesday night against having any celebrations on Wednesday. We told them it wouldn’t be a good idea and suggested holding the event next Sunday when people would have calmed down,” a police officer said, according to the report.

“We advised them not to hold a moving parade, but instead to organise the event at one location. Bring the players to the stadium and wrap it up there,” the officer added. “But they said many of the players, especially the foreign ones, would be leaving today or tomorrow,” he explained.

After this serious mistake, RCB has released a statement, offering ₹10 lakh to the family of the person who passed away. In their official message, the team said,

“The unfortunate incident in Bengaluru yesterday has caused a lot of anguish and pain to the RCB family. As a mark of respect and a gesture of solidarity, RCB has announced a financial support of INR 10 lakh to each of the eleven families of the deceased. In addition, a fund called RCB Cares is also being created to support fans injured in this tragic incident. Our fans will always remain at the heart of everything that we do. We remain united in grief.”

Karnataka CM Announces Compensation and Free Treatment

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced ₹10 lakh for each victim’s family and said the government will give free treatment to the injured. He said that such incidents have happened in many places before and that he didn’t want to compare this with others. His comments were criticised by BJP leader Pralhad Joshi, who questioned why the event was allowed even after police refused permission. He also asked why the Deputy Chief Minister welcomed the guests, saying leaders were more focused on taking selfies than caring for the public.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru shared a statement saying they were very sad about what happened. They said they changed their plans as soon as they found out and followed the advice of local authorities. The Karnataka State Cricket Association also gave ₹5 lakh to each affected family. Their finance officer said the money is just a way to show support, not to replace the value of life. Many people are now asking for a proper investigation, as this tragic event has shown the serious problems caused by poor planning and mismanagement.
