Champions Trophy 2025, which returned after eight years and being played in Pakistan and Dubai has witnessed some exciting matches, now we are near the end of the prestigious ICC tournament, with the final on 9th March which will be played between India and New Zealand at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Ben Duckett

In the Champions Trophy 2025, one player that stood out from the other players in England's team was Ben Duckett. In the three matches of the tournament, he has batted magnificently, dominating the bowlers, especially in the match against Australia, where he scored the highest-ever individual score in the history of the Champions Trophy. However, Ibrahim Zadran broke his record in the upcoming match. In the match against Australia, Duckett scored 165 runs in 143 balls, hitting seventeen boundaries and three sixes. In the Champions Trophy 2025, he scored 227 runs and stood as the highest run scorer of the Champions Trophy 2025.

 

Rachin Ravindra

The second-highest run scorer of the Champions Trophy 2025 is Rachin Ravindra, the key Kiwi batter who showcased his exceptional skills in the tournament. Despite not getting the chance in the first match, Rachin returned to the playing XI in the second match against Bangladesh and has scored two centuries in just three matches. He scored 112 against Bangladesh and 108 against South Africa in the Semi-Finals. Rachin has scored a total of 226 runs in this Champions Trophy 2025.

England's former captain and one of the most experienced batters of the current generation, Joe Root, is the third-highest run scorer of the Champions Trophy 2025. Root has batted phenomenally for England in the tournament, scoring over 200 runs in three matches. In all three innings, Joe Root stabilised the middle order by keeping his wicket at one end of the crease. In the tournament, Root scored one century against Afghanistan and one half-century against Australia in the group stage matches, totalling 225 runs in the tournament. Despite his efforts, England couldn't win a single match and were disqualified from the group stage itself.

Matt Henry, New Zealand’s key pacer, is currently the highest wicket-taker of the Champions Trophy 2025, taking 10 wickets so far in the tournament. In the four matches played in the tournament, he bowled with an impressive economy of 5.32 along with 10 wickets. In the tournament opener against Pakistan, he took two wickets while taking a single wicket against Bangladesh. His best performance of the tournament came against India, where Henry took five wickets, sending key batters like Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, and Hardik Pandya back to the pavilion. With New Zealand already in the finals, which will be played on 9th March against India, Matt Henry will be looking to repeat his last performance.


Mohammad Shami

The second highest wicket taker of the Champions Trophy 2025 is star Indian pacer Mohammed Shami. Shami had not played cricket for over a year due to the injury. He made his comeback just before the Champions Trophy 2025 in India's squad. His importance increased even further due to Jasprit Bumrah's unavailability, as Bumrah was ruled out of the whole tournament due to the back injury. In this Champions Trophy, Shami has taken eight wickets so far within an outstanding economy rate of 4.96.


Azmatullah Omarzai

Afghanistan’s key pacer, Azmatullah Omarzai, is currently the third-highest wicket-taker of the Champions Trophy 2025. Omarzai played a critical role in the Afghanistan victory against England in the group stage match, as the pacer took five wickets in that match, shaking England's middle and lower order. Afghanistan's rise in international cricket is impressive, and it has come due to the consistent performances from players like Omarzai and Amanatullah. Omarzai took seven wickets in the Champions Trophy with an economy rate of 6.72.
