The CEAT Cricket Awards were held in Mumbai on October 7. The 27th edition of the awards saw many big names present at the ceremony, as many current and former cricketers were awarded in several different categories. Rohit Sharma was at the center of attention as he received a special award for leading India to the Champions Trophy 2025 win.

Sanju Samson was picked as a T20I Batter of the Year, defeating players like Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma. In the women’s list, Smriti Mandhana won Batter of the Year, and Deepti Sharma was awarded as a Bowler of the Year.

Rohit Sharma to Play for India in Upcoming Australia Tour

This was the first time Rohit Sharma appeared in public after stepping down as India's ODI captain. The BCCI has named Shubman Gill as the new ODI captain for India’s upcoming tour of Australia.

However, he is no longer the captain, Rohit will still play in India’s three-match ODI series against Australia, along with Virat Kohli. Both have retired from T20Is and Test cricket and are now focusing only on ODI cricket.
