BCCI New Guidelines for IPL 2026 - What Teams Are Allowed and Not Allowed
The BCCI has brought up a few new rules for IPL 2026. No practice is allowed on match days, which was informed to the managers of teams. Teams will get two nets to practice and one side wicket on the main pitch for big shots. At Wankhede Stadium, if both teams practice together, then both teams will get two wickets.
Match Day Rules:
1. There will be no open nets.
2. If one of the teams finishes practice early, the other team cannot use the other team’s wickets.
3. There are no fitness tests on the main pitch on match days.
4. Players cannot hit the ball towards the LED boards even if there are nets.
5. Players and officials cannot sit in front of the LED boards.
6. Special seats will be arranged for the substitutes with towels and water bottles.
7. Players need to wear Orange Cap and Purple Cap when necessary. If not necessary, players need to wear them at least for the first two overs so that TV can show them.
8. Sleeveless jerseys and slippers are not allowed during the post-match presentation.
9. First offense: warning; second offense: fine.

Practice & Travel Rules:
1. On practice days, players need to travel in the team bus to the stadium.
2. Players need to travel separately from their families.
3. Family and friends need to come in separate vehicles and watch from the hospitality area.
