BCCI Likely to Move IPL 2026 Final Out of Bengaluru Amid MLA Ticket Issue

Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s home ground, M Chinnaswamy Stadium, may not host the IPL 2026 playoffs and final. The BCCI is still thinking about the venue and will announce the decision soon.
IPL 2026 Final Venue Uncertain as Bengaluru Faces Political and Ticket Issues
Right now, there are some problems in Bengaluru, so BCCI is not sure if matches can be held there. Because of this, the board may not split the playoff matches across venues. If things don’t improve, Bengaluru could miss out on hosting the final, even though RCB are playing well this season.
Usually, the IPL final is played at the home ground of the defending champions. But this time, political issues are creating trouble. The main issue is about MLA ticket demands, which has made things complicated.
A source stated to ANI that,
“IPL 2026 playoffs and final vene will be announced soon. Matches likely to be divided into Punjab and Karnataka, the last time winner should host the final, but MLA ticket issue is creating problems in Bengaluru, and if there is no solution, then bcci will move the final to another city,”
A source said that the playoff and final venues will be announced soon. Matches could be held in other places like Punjab or another city if the Bengaluru issue is not solved. Last season also saw a change. The final was moved from Eden Gardens because of weather problems and security concerns.
The current issue started when MLA Vijayanand Kashappanavar asked for free IPL tickets for MLAs, saying they are VIPs. After that, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar allowed three free tickets for each MLA, MLC, and MP. Still, the issue did not fully settle. Home Minister G. Parameshwara said the tickets cannot be given to others and can only be used by the MLAs or their families.
Meanwhile, RCB are in good form. They are currently second on the points table with 12 points from 9 matches, and are strong contenders this season.
