BCCI Demands Strict Punishment for Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan’s On-Field Conduct

The rivalry between India and Pakistan cricket teams continues to heat up. India recently defeated Pakistan twice in the Asia Cup, first by seven wickets in the league stage and then by six wickets in the Super 4. After the September 14 match, the Pakistan Cricket Board lodged two complaints with the ICC against Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav. Match referee Richie Richardson has now asked the Indian skipper to respond to those complaints.
India-Pakistan Cricket Fight Gets Bigger
Meanwhile, the Indian team has demanded strict action from match referee Andy Pycroft for the provocative and rude behaviour of Sahibzada Farhan and Haris Rauf during the Super 4 match held on September 21. The Indian team has filed an official complaint against Rauf and Farhan. In the match held on Sunday, Farhan celebrated with his bat after scoring a half-century, while Haris Rauf showed aggression after taking the wicket of Sanju Samson.
Not only this, he also fought with Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill. The BCCI has strongly objected to this. A BCCI official said that such behavior on the field is against the spirit of the game. We have complained to Andy Pycroft about this and demanded strict action. Not only has an official complaint been made to Pycroft, but videos of Rauf and Sahibzada have also been attached to the email.
The complaint also mentions Sahibzada's post-match press conference, in which he had said that it was just a moment of joy. "I don't celebrate much after scoring a half-century, but suddenly I felt that I should celebrate today. That's what I did. I don't know how people will take it. It doesn't matter to me."
BCCI Demands Action Against Rauf and Farhan’s On-Field Conduct
The BCCI believes that they did it deliberately and have already said that they have no regrets. The Indian team has prepared a complete document and sent it to Pycroft. Since the start of the Asia Cup, tensions between India and Pakistan have reached their peak on the field. The Pakistani team and their board have been uneasy after the Indian team refused to shake hands during the match on September 14. The consequences are being felt on and off the field.

The PCB has filed two complaints with the ICC regarding Suryakumar Yadav. One was for not shaking hands with Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha after the toss and the other was for his press conference. An ICC committee investigated the cases. It is worth noting that Pakistan had earlier complained to match referee Andy Pycroft, but he ignored any of their demands, which led to Pakistan threatening to boycott the league match against UAE.
Not only this, the Pakistani team reached the stadium almost an hour late for the match against UAE. Moreover, the PCB also cancelled the press conference scheduled for the Super Four match against India on Sunday. The celebrations by Rauf and Farhan during the Super Four match were enough to show the frustration of the Pakistani players.
Meanwhile, in response to the PCB's complaint, the ICC has sent two reports to match referee Richie Richardson, after which he emailed the Indian team. The email said, “The ICC has sent me two reports to handle.” The Pakistan Cricket Board had filed two complaints regarding Suryakumar Yadav’s presentation of the match and statements made in the press conference.
