BCCI Announces ₹131 Crore Reward for India After T20 World Cup 2026 Victory

The BCCI has announced a huge cash reward of ₹131 crore for Team India after their T20 World Cup victory. Led by Suryakumar Yadav, India made history on Sunday by defeating New Zealand in the final and winning their third T20 World Cup title.
The Men in Blue are also the only team to win the title twice in a row and the only team to win the tournament at home. The prize money has been increased from ₹125 crore in 2024 to ₹131 crore in 2026. Congratulating Team India on their historic win, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia announced the cash reward and praised the players as well as the support staff for their efforts.

“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward of INR 131 crore for Team India following their triumphant campaign in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. India lifted the prestigious trophy after defeating New Zealand in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, successfully defending the title and becoming the first team in the history of the tournament to retain the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. With this victory, India also became the first team to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup three times, further cementing their place among the most successful teams in the history of the format. The Board congratulates the players, support staff and selectors once again on this historic achievement and wishes them continued success in the future,” BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said.
India beat New Zealand by 96 runs in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to win the title. Fifties from Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, and Ishan Kishan, along with a quick cameo from Shivam Dube in the last over, helped India post a huge 255 runs.
In reply, New Zealand struggled with the bat. Axar Patel took three wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah starred with brilliant figures of 4/15 to seal the victory for India.
