The whole issue between the BCCI and PCB began when Mohsin Naqvi refused to hand over the Asia Cup trophy to Team India. It looks like the Asia Cup trophy dispute between the BCCI and PCB is finally coming to a resolution. On Saturday, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed that this issue had been resolved with PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the ICC meeting in Dubai and we are now getting to the point of resolution together.

Asia Cup Trophy Set to Return to India

“The ice has been broken,” said Saikia to Sportstar. “I was part of both formal and informal ICC meetings with Mr. Naqvi. The issue wasn't on the agenda, but the ICC made a meeting for us to meet separately with a senior member of the ICC officiating the meeting."

He added both boards are now looking a resolution sooner rather than later. "It was a good discussion to start with, we both spoke amicably and I'm sure this matter will be resolved very soon,” continued Saikia.

This dispute started after India's victory in the 2025 Asia Cup when the India team rejected to shake hands with PCB president Mohsin Naqvi and also rejected receiving the trophy from Naqvi. After, Naqvi kept the trophy for his own purposes and later told the India team.
