The Bangladesh Cricket Board’s integrity unit has started an investigation into board director Mohammad Mokleshur Rahman over match-fixing allegations.

According to a report in Cricbuzz on Friday (January 23), in which they quoted a BCB official, BCB’s Integrity Unit has launched their investigation against Mokhleshur, who was involved in fixing matches in the ongoing BPL. As per the available information, Riasat Azim on his YouTube channel uploaded several phone conversations that took place between Mokhleshur and Noakhali Express chairman Towhidul Haque Towhid, where Towhid dictated to Mokhleshur how he wants the matches to be played, compromising their integrity.

“Alex Marshal (BCB integrity unit head) already started his investigation while he also resigned from BCB’s audit committee," a BCB official was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

“For the sake of a proper investigation, I have resigned from the audit committee and all other responsibilities, but I will remain a director. I want a clean investigation into the matter," Mokhleshur told Cricbuzz.

BCB probes match-fixing claims as board faces fresh ICC and India-related challenges

A desperate Bangladesh Cricket Board has written to the Dispute Resolution Committee of ICC seeking a revision of the governing body's decision to hold the national men's team's T20 World Cup games in India but its appeal won't be heard as it is outside the remit of the sub-committee. Even as the ICC has kept Scotland on stand-by, the BCB under Aminul Islam Bulbul, after being completely cornered, decided to use it.

“Yes, BCB has approached the DRC of ICC as it wants to exhaust all its options. If DRC rules against BCB, then the only body that can be approached is Court of Arbitration of Sports (CAS) in Switzerland," a BCB source told PTI.
