Ayush Badoni and Mukul Choudhary Lead Lucknow Super Giants to Thrilling Win

Lucknow Super Giants pulled off an amazing win against Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League 2026 match at Eden Gardens. At one stage, the game looked lost for them, but Mukul Choudhary played brilliantly, hitting big sixes and helping his team win.
He barely had any support from the other end, so he took the matter into his own hands and pulled off a historic win over Kolkata on their home turf. Leading up to the season, LSG head coach Justin Langer lauded Mukul for his six-hitting abilities and when the time came, Mukul proved his mettle and pulled off 182 runs. He decimated the KKR bowlers, scoring 54 runs off 27 balls as LSG registered their second successive win in the tournament.
Mukul Choudhary seals thrilling LSG win
Mukul was bought for ₹2.60 crore in the Indian Premier League auction. Along with Lucknow Super Giants, Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians also showed interest in the Sambhal-born player. When he finally got a chance, the 21-year-old made full use of it and, with that strong performance, secured his place in the playing XI. Batting first, KKR posted 181 runs on the board.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Ajinkya Rahane gave their team a good start, scoring 45 and 41 runs. After that, Cameron Green and Rovman Powell came in to bat. Green struggled during most of his innings but managed to play better towards the end. He made unbeaten 32 runs in the end, while Powell added 39 off 24.
During the chase, Lucknow Super Giants kept losing wickets regularly. Kolkata Knight Riders’ spinners performed really well, with Anukul Roy taking two wickets for 32 runs in his four overs. Meanwhile, Sunil Narine gave away just 13 runs in his four overs and also took a wicket.
They were on course to pull off a sensational win, but Mukul came out of the syllabus and completely changed the complexion of the game. Credit also goes to Ayush Badoni, who played a fantastic knock of 54 runs that kept the visitors in the hunt till the end.
