Asia Cup 2025: PCB Plans Complaint Over Suryakumar Yadav’s Post Match Presentation Remarks
India beat Pakistan by seven wickets in their Asia Cup 2025 group match on September 14, but the drama continues off the field as the “handshake” issue grows bigger, with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) now planning to file a complaint against Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav over his post-match comments, as reported by NDTV.
Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav dedicated the seven-wicket win over Pakistan to India’s armed forces involved in Operation Sindoor and also showed support for families affected by the Pahalgam terror attack in April. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) feels this was a political remark made on a global cricket stage and, according to NDTV, believes it goes against the spirit of the game.
Tensions rose further when Indian players refused to shake hands with their Pakistani opponents before and after the match breaking a tradition of sportsmanship and leaving Pakistan disappointed. Adding to the debate, former PCB chairman and ex-captain Rameez Raja said that Suryakumar Yadav’s post-match remarks were even more serious than the handshake issue claiming the Indian captain blurred the line between cricket and politics.

ICC Gives PCB Deadline to File Complaint
The controversy has now reached the International Cricket Council (ICC), which has given the PCB until Sunday, September 21 to file an official complaint if they want to take the matter forward. If Pakistan proceeds, it could turn into one of the most heated clashes between the PCB and BCCI in recent years adding more drama to the ongoing “handshake” and political remarks row.
