Pakistan’s mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed nears the top spot in the ODI bowling rankings after the latest update.

Abrar closes in on Rashid at top

Abrar now has his career-best rating of 675 points as he moves to second place. His promotion comes as England’s Jofra Archer slips to the third spot, with Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan unmoved at No. 1.

The Pakistan spinner grabbed six wickets during the recent three-match ODI series, taking two wickets in each game. Besides striking with the ball, he was also decently economical, conceding only 97 runs in 30 overs across the series.

Shaheen, Haris make gains

Besides Abrar, Pakistan’s ODI captain Shaheen Shah Afridi also rose in the rankings after his incredible form with the ball against Australia.

In addition to leading his side to a 2-1 series win over Australia, the left-armer grabbed seven wickets, including two three-wicket hauls in the second and third ODIs. He finished the series at an impressive average of just 12.14 and a 3.86 economy rate.

These outings helped him break into the top ten bowlers as he moved to the ninth spot with a 604 rating. Abrar and Shaheen are the only Pakistan bowlers in the top ten, with the nearest to them being Haris Rauf in eighteenth place. Haris rose one spot after his decent form versus Australia.

The right-armer dismissed four batters across three games at an average of 26.50 and a 4.78 economy rate.
