by mishaalmubarak

Pakistan mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed has risen in the ICC ODI bowlers' rankings after his brilliant outing against Australia in the first one-day game. Abrar has climbed seven spots to the fourth position in the ODI bowlers' rankings with 633 rating points. This is his career-best ranking, and he is currently the only Pakistani bowler in the top five across formats.

Shaheen and Abrar soar

The young spinner took two wickets in as many games against Australia, taking his ODI wickets tally to 33 in just 18 games. Besides Abrar, Pakistan's ODI captain Shaheen Shah Afridi also made gains in the rankings.

Shaheen, who was at the 17th place, moves four positions to the 13th spot. The young pacer grabbed four wickets in two ODIs, three of which came in the second game at the cost of just 36 runs in eight overs.

Besides the two, no other Pakistan bowler or batter rose in the rankings. Among the bowlers, Haris Rauf retained his 19th spot while Naseem Shah and Mohammad Nawaz dropped five places to 45th and 75th positions, respectively. Mohammad Wasim Jr., meanwhile, moved down one place to 65th position.
