Interestingly, Abhishek had soared up to 931 rating points after his 61-run knock against Sri Lanka in the final Super Four encounter. But in the final against Pakistan, he couldn’t deliver with the bat and was dismissed by Faheem Ashraf after scoring just five runs while chasing 147.

Even though Tilak Varma played a match-winning innings in the final, he couldn’t move up to second place. He is currently at number three in the latest rankings, just 25 points behind England’s Phil Salt, who is in second spot. On the other hand, India’s captain Suryakumar Yadav had a disappointing Asia Cup with the bat, scoring only 72 runs in six matches at an average of about 14. Because of this, he has dropped two places and is now ranked eighth with 698 points.
