Aaqib Javed downplays Jasprit Bumrah's threat, says India-Pakistan Champions Trophy plans won’t revolve around himThe ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is all set to kick off on February 19, with an exciting opening match between Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi.

Pakistan's head coach, Aaqib Javed, has downplayed Jasprit Bumrah’s availability for India's match against Pakistan on February 23.

"They should be worried about Bumrah's fitness. When you play in the Champions Trophy, the most beautiful thing about it is you can't take any team lightly. The top eight best teams are playing. If any team has a bowler like Bumrah, it is a plus point. But it is not like we will plan everything around him," Aaqib told reporters.

India Awaits Scan Results on Bumrah’s Fitness

India captain Rohit Sharma has given an update on Bumrah’s condition, stating that the team is awaiting scan results before making any decisions.

"we're waiting on some update about his scan, which is due to happen in the next few days," Rohit said in the press conference.

Bumrah’s Recent Achievements Add to the Debate

Bumrah’s absence has been a problem for India's bowling attack considering his stellar performances in 2024, which earned him the prestigious ICC Cricketer of the Year and Test Cricketer of the Year awards. Bumrah's return could be India's strong bowling attack in the Champions Trophy. So, BCCI is waiting for an update from India’s medical team on their star fast bowler.
