5 Players MI W Must Target in the WPL 2026 Mega Auction
Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W) have revealed details about players they intend to keep ahead of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026, which is ready to begin in January. This will be the first WPL edition to be held in a mega auction.
The Mumbai franchise, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, is the most successful player in the WPL league's history, with two WPL cups in 2023 and 2025, when they won their final encounter against Delhi Capitals Women (DC-W). The mega auction for WPL 2026 will take place in Delhi on the 27th of November.
Each team will have a purse of INR 15 crore to build a team of 16 to 18 players, after seeing the new rules. Based on this premise, MI-W has retained five players, removing their use of the RTM option. MI-W announced their retained players as captain Harmanpreet Kaur, overseas star players Nat Sciver-Brunt and Hayley Matthews, all-rounder Amanjot Kaur, and young Indian player G. Kamalini.
