Pakistan-born Rwandan batter Hamza Khan smashes second-highest T20I score

Pakistan-born batter scored a match-winning ton to take his team, Rwanda, over the line against the Ivory Coast in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Sub-Regional Qualifier in Gaborone. In doing so, he also registered the second-highest individual score in T20I, fewer only than Australia’s Aaron Finch. Hamza scored an unbeaten 164 runs, including nine fours and fifteen sixes.
Hamza leads the run-charts
Hamza, who was born in Peshawar, took 41 balls to reach his hundred, getting his remaining 64 runs on the next 24 balls. The right-handed batter has yet to be dismissed in the ongoing Qualifiers, as he scored an unbeaten 60 in his previous game against Cameroon. With a 224-run tally across two innings, Hamza is currently the leading run-scorer in the competition.
In total, Rwanda scripted a target of 288, which proved to be a gigantic task for the Ivory Coast, who succumbed for just 17 runs, the joint fifth-lowest total in T20Is. The side’s 271-run win is the third-highest winning margin in Men’s T20Is.
