Cantata++ 5.4

IPL is pleased to announce the general availability of Cantata++ 5.4 in both ‘Built on Eclipse’ and ‘Eclipse Ready’ forms using the latest Eclipse 3.5 and CDT 6.0 (Galileo) platform.

The main product enhancements in Cantata++ 5.4 are:

• Single option to disable all types of instrumentation (to aid DO-178B certification)
• Improved control over testing C++ call order

IPL and Wind River Systems have a long established partnership to provide unit testing solutions for Wind River's platforms. Cantata++ 5.4 extends support to Wind River Workbench 3.2 (including Dynamic Printf and headless build CLI mode). The additional support of VxWorks 6.8 and VxWorks 653 2.3 means that current Wind River platforms are supported out of the box with Cantata++ 5.4.

Beyond Cantata++ 5.4

The next Cantata++ release is schedule for August 2010, and will include some significant new features which have been beta tested by a selection of existing customers. To find out more, please contact us.

New Automotive software white paper

We have produced a new white paper “Cantata and IEC 26262” which describes how Cantata++ can be used by developers following the IEC 26262 standard.

This is a derivative of IEC 61508, and relates specifically to software safety in automotive systems. The paper can be found here.
