IPL Partners with Jaspersoft to Simplify Businesses' Regulatory Compliance

January 10th, 2012

New partnership offers businesses a greater understanding of regulatory requirements, together with guidance on how high-quality information management and business intelligence can contribute to satisfying such demands.

IPL, an IT services company specialising in business intelligence and information management, has partnered with Jaspersoft, maker of the world's most widely used business intelligence (BI) software, to provide businesses with the necessary transparency of information to satisfy increased industry regulation, most notably the Information Commissioner's Office, the Data Protection Act, Basel III, Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) and the Sarbanes Oxley (SoX) legislation.

Jaspersoft Business Intelligence provides the most flexible, cost-effective, easy-to-use and widely deployed business intelligence suite in the world, enabling better decision-making through highly interactive web-based reports, dashboards and analysis. Greater adoption is ensured by integration of the platform in existing standard desktop or browser applications. No user training is required and the software is fully supported on mobile devices.

The partnership will mean that IPL's experience in helping organisations better understand, structure and manage huge volumes of corporate information will be supplemented with the increased visibility that the Jaspersoft software provides. Such increased transparency and governance is essential for compliance with various regulatory requirements, including the Information Commissioner's Office, the Data Protection Act, Basel III (the regulatory standard on bank capital adequacy), FSCS (the compensation fund for authorised financial services funds), and Sarbanes-Oxley, also known as the Public Company Accounting Reform and Investor Protection Act.

Carl Edgar, Sales & Marketing Director at IPL, comments, “IPL has been working with the largest organisations in the UK and abroad for many years. This expertise means that we have a trusted and unrivalled reputation in business intelligence and thoroughly understand the various regulatory demands that each sector faces, and the complexities that such requirements pose to information management. The typical enormity of organisations' data can often be daunting, with inherent problems of management compounded by many believing that pre-existing systems are adequate. More often than not, their confidence is misplaced and regulatory requirements are simply not being met.”

Tom Cahill, VP for EMEA at Jaspersoft, comments, “The way that data in modern businesses is governed and managed is increasingly being impacted upon by government regulations. The problems arising from this are particularly large and complex given the amount of data that is involved, however that data can be managed effectively with appropriate governance strategies. In addition, Jaspersoft is the first BI vendor to support both batch reporting as well as interactive reporting and analysis of Big Data. At the heart of these strategies are refined structures for Information Management – in which IPL is a renowned expert – and a greater visibility of Business Intelligence – such that our software provides.”

Edgar continues, “The partnership with Jaspersoft will enable us to give organisations the knowledge and understanding of the risks involved with the mismanagement of data. In addition, a practical, proven solution can be provided to bring stability, a clearer management of information and to deliver greater data transparency, which is increasingly necessary to comply with the myriad regulations that such organisations face.”
