In its latest engagement with the Technology Strategy Board, IPL is providing technical consulting services for a project which aims to boost the UK's digital economy.
The £10m ‘testbed’ will enable users, content providers and service providers to conduct trials in a ring–fenced area of the Internet, so that they can demonstrate their innovative business models and services. The testbed will spark new collaborations between people and organisations from areas of the online world that don't traditionally work together and who have been unable to solve the challenges that currently impede the digital economy on their own.
The Technology Strategy Board has given IPL charge of the technical requirements for the testbed IT platform. IPL's role is to ensure that the technical framework fully supports the business objectives, to manage the requirements and to monitor the solution provider's testing against these requirements.
As a Buying Solutions supplier, IPL is delighted to be involved in a public sector project which has such potential to strengthen the UK's digital economy, and which is so close in scope to IPL's other work in digital content delivery. Further details of that work are available on IPL's Telecoms & Digital Media page.
The Technology Strategy Board is an executive non-departmental public body (NDPB), established by the Government in 2007 and sponsored by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS). Its role is to stimulate technology–enabled innovation in the areas which offer the greatest scope for boosting UK growth and productivity.
