Following a competitive tender via OJEU, IPL has been contracted to provide consultancy and support for a number of Highways Agency systems. The £4M contract provides technical consultancy for the Highways Agency Traffic Management System (HATMS), Motorway Incident Detection and Automatic Signalling system (MIDAS) and the Message Sign Subsystem (MSS).

IPL will also provide software maintenance support for MIDAS on-line data (GOLD) equipment and for MIDAS and Site Data Tools for the Traffic Technology Group Technology Operation and Maintenance (TTG TOM) Team.

Commenting on the award, Barry Savell, IPL's Divisional Director for Highways Agency business, said: “This contract is further endorsement of IPL's in-depth knowledge of Highways Agency systems and confirmation of our ability to deliver the very best value technical services to the Public Sector.”
