December 12th, 2006

IPL has achieved ISO14001 certification for its consulting and software services activities. Registration to the internationally recognised standard for environmental management was carried out by accredited auditors BSI.

Published by the International Organization for Standardization, ISO14001 specifies the requirements for an organisation's environmental management systems. The standard applies to all environmental aspects of an organisation over which it has control or influence. ISO 14001 has been embraced worldwide as the preferred model for environmental management.

David Dutton, Quality Manager at IPL commented, "Certification to the ISO14001 standard recognises that everyone at IPL is fully committed to protecting the environment. However, it's not just about controlling business waste and energy usage, it's about any aspect of the way we as a company and as individuals behave which impacts on the environment."

He continued, "Creating an effective environmental management system has taken a concerted and dedicated effort by IPL's senior management. It will enable us to more effectively identify, manage and control any activities that can impact on the environment. Our customers include many blue chip organisations and it's vital that we have a strong environmental conscience."
