IPL aims to minimise the environmental impact of its operations.

Identify and responsibly manage aspects of our business which have a significant impact on the environment
Implement a measurement and continuous improvement programme, to reduce our carbon footprint and prevent pollution
Effectively and responsibly manage and dispose of waste
Incorporate environmental considerations into the procurement of goods and services
Comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations
Maintain our certification to ISO 14001 through monitoring and review of performance

Provide Board-level oversight and review of the environmental management system, including effective resourcing
Set, monitor and review environmental objectives and targets to improve our performance
Implement a programme of awareness and training for all staff, including those who visit to work on our sites
Encourage recycling, re-use and the minimisation of waste whenever possible within the work environment
Perform periodic audits of our activities to ensure compliance with company requirements and legislation
Regularly review this policy to take account of new developments in environmental management and legislation

This policy is accessible to all staff on the IPL's intranet, and to the public via ipl.com.
